Punc·tu·a·tion: what's the point?
An English professor wrote the words :
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing"
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."
Punctuation is powerful, eh?

When I first started teaching Rhetoric and Composition classes, I actually did use this punctuation exercise!
Mr.D: The person you overheard must have had a loose tic (sic).
Imogen: Thanks for stopping by.
The post goes full circle, as I got the quote from my brother who lives in Chicago.

Imogen: I simply meant full circle from USA - UK - USA and mentioned Chicago because my brother lives there.
